The photographic essay "Sober" examines the ways in which the living community of the Fleckenbühler Hofgemeinschaft functions and the psychological process of people in drug addiction "getting clean".
15 minutes by car from Marburg (in Hesse), more than 100 people in drug addiction live together on a farm. Together they manage the farm and live in a sober community. For the first 6 months, the residents have no contact with the world outside the community. One of the special features on site is that residents can stay on the farm as long as they want. The only requirements are: no drugs, no violence against others or themselves, and no cigarettes.

Hofbewohner während einer Gesprächsrunde - Jeden Freitag treffen sich alle Hofbewohner*innen zum sogenannten „Spiel“. Dies dient dazu, seinen eigenen Emotionen freien Lauf zu lassen, um Probleme zu klären, die im Zusammenleben oder im Prozess mit der eigenen Sucht entstehen. „Bootcamp“-Bewohner an einem Sonntag - Die Bewohner*innen des Hofes arbeiten an 6 Tagen der Woche. Sonntag ist der einzige freie Tag in der Woche. Für neue Bewohner*innen des Hofes ist es schwierig, sich an diesem Tag zu beschäftigen und oft kommt es zu Zweifel, ob sie es durchhalten, auf dem Hof zu bleiben, Juli 2020. // "Bootcamp" residents on a Sunday - The residents of the farm work 6 days a week. Durchschnittlich leben auf dem Hof 110, Frauen Männer und Kinder. Der Alltag der Hofbewohner*innen ist strukturiert. Alle Bewohner des Hofes erhalten eine „Demeter komplett-Versorgung“. Das Essen wird in der eigenen Küche 3-mal täglich zubereitet. Um sich die Zeit zu vertreiben, wird an diesem Sonntag auf der Wiese Rummikub gespielt. Alle Hofbewohner*innen müssen für das erste halbe Jahr ihr Telefon abgeben, haben eine Kontaktsperre zur Außenwelt und dürfen den Hof nicht alleine verlassen. An freien Tagen wird versucht, sich mit Spielen und Geschichten aus der Drogenzeit abzulenken, Juli 2020. // To pass the time, Rummikub will be played on the meadow this Sunday. Eine weitere Aufgabe der Bootcamper ist für das Spiel oder ander Versammlungen Tische und Stühle aufzustellen. Diese Aufgaben sollen ihnen dabei Helfen, wieder eine Struktur in ihrem Alltag zu finden, Dezember 2019. // Another task of the boot campers is to set up tables and chairs for the game or other meetings. Bewohner*innen wohnen für mindestens eineinhalb Jahre auf einem Mehrbettzimmer. Viel Privatsphäre gibt es dort nicht.
